City 2 – 3 United

When this fixture was drawn out of the hat (ball bank, whatever) I earmarked it, I guess with a lot of others,  as a potential game for us to use to turn the psychological tide in the title race. Since then though, our form has been so erratic (as has City’s to a much lesser degree), I’m not sure if there is a tide or if there was one to begin with or even where this analogy is going. Hopefully it doesn’t end up with us washed up.

I feel like we can’t even contemplate losing this game, so I won’t.

We surely have to be thinking of this, with being out of the Champions League and all, as one of our main opportunites to get some silverware this season and so have to put a strong team out…??!!

I think we will rise to the occasion, like we always expect us to.

City without Yaya Toure is a welcome bonus.

Goals: Rooney to silence the critics with a masterclass, (I really wish I could believe that).
