Southampton 1 – 2 United

I’ve always had a soft spot for Southampton, probably brought on by Matt Le-Tissier (as a player). I’m really glad they’ve got back in the Premiership. I also have a little bit of a soft spot for Ricky Lambert, having seen him in the flesh when he played for Bristol Rovers, he always looked like he was going to become a top player. None of that matters though, because we have to take all three points. After making a good fist of their first game against City, they lost at home to Wigan, which doesn’t bode well.

Hopefully, Evans will be back in the starting eleven after making the bench against Fulham. Evans and Vidic aren’t a natural partnership, but when compared to Carrick and Vidic … exactly!

I reckon Fergie might like to tinker a bit more, to keep people “on their toes”, but with Rooney out, he may be forced to stick with a similar line-up.

Anyway, I’m away on holiday when this game is being played and writing this is taking up valuable packing time, so that’ll do.

Goals: Welbeck and RvP
