Again, I got a few things right. Someone remarked the other day that I’m fairly insightful when I set my mind to it, and if I took myself more seriously, and considered taking these things more seriously, I might develop a better reputation amongst the United online community … Pah!! As if! Sounds horrid.
If you’ll pardon the cliche, that was indeed a game of two halves and understandably so. With the game won, Fergie made the necessary changes to prepare us for the congested festive fixture list. So, that’s that. Brilliant first-half. Disjointed second. Fine. As far as revenge narratives go, it’ll do.
RVP still impresses, some dreamy touches from him. Rooney was Rooney (with the added distraction of his self-imposed revenge mission), and, TV aside, we looked great before the changes. Would be nice for Cleverley push on from here and develop the side of his game that produces finishing like that (not holding my breath). Sunderland carried very little threat, until after the changes. Pretty straightforward really. Which made it a little surprising to hear Fergie’s comments after the game – tough love?! Vidic is back, so that’s nice.
(TV’s form shakes most right before a breakthrough.)
The game against Swansea next week will be a real test – this was not.
MOTM: Carrick – when he wasn’t there, we weren’t really there.
