United 4 – 2 Stoke

Phewee! It’s a good job I had my fingers crossed behind my back when I said I’d  call it quits on the money I’m owed from previous twitter bets, if United didn’t win 2-0, so I didn’t have to renege on it or nothing, innit?! (I’m bored of myself already too.)

The result is the result – we’re still “pregnant with the future”. No-one, with the exception of Chelsea (although they have been flattered by results), is up to any kind of speed either, so let’s (to use one of David’s terms) just ‘ill. Besides, I’d be more than happy for every game to be a goalfest littered with errors and that – so long as we win ‘em.

Was great for Danny and Rooney to get their first goals of the season, especially Danny, who perhaps needs them more than most. There were some great passages of play from us and if I’m being really biased their goals were extremely fortunate. Nothing ‘new’ to be particularly concerned with, I didn’t think.

The two things of note were Rooney’s 10th anniversary and the Rio/Fergie fall out/no longer fall out fall out.

It was a great way for Rooney to mark his 10th anniversary in the Prem – with a couple of goals, and there are flickering signs his form is returning, BUT I personally expect so much more than glimpses. (I know I said I wouldn’t repeat myself and here I am…) Rooney needs to become THAT player (we all know is in there) and quick smart.

As for the Rio and Fergie falling out. I don’t know if it was just me – I’ve been off Twitter over the weekend (kind of because of this) – but it seemed strange for Fergie to come out with his comments about Jason Roberts in the first place, what with speculation already rife that Rio would be following suit. It felt like Fergie was orchestrating the situation to really test Rio, and all sorts of bad things were going to happen, and now they’ve ‘resolved’ it?! (Hhhhmmm.) BUT THANK GOD!!

MOTM: RVP. I don’t know if you’d noticed, but that RVP is a bit of alright.
