T’would be daft for David Moyes face not to want Manchester United Football Club – the team he manages – to give the F.A Cup (another trophy!!!) a right good go, what with our tradition of wanting to win all the trophies, a tradition he upheld, in fine style, by bagging the Charity Shield early on in his Manchester United Football Club managerial career. Hooray!! But, put that thought on ice: we’re heading full-steam into the League Cup Semi-final on Tuesday (another trophy!!!) and David Moyes – the Manchester United Football Club Manager – can potentially cement his legend alongside the greats in the pantheon of outstanding achievement (they should cast his statue from that Sky Sports info-graphic – that would be just swell). Lord only knows what he’s going to do. He could just arse about with the squad a bit with no real indication that he has a clear direction, like he has been doing in the previous few months, and hope for the best, I s’pose.

T’is the F.A Cup, and magicness* abounds.

T’Bony’s had his good old day for this season, and #Supervorm, and the 7ft sneeze, and the 5ft geeze are still out injured. So, unless De Guzman remembers he is allowed to score normal goals, or Routledge manages to drown our defenders in those beautiful deep blue eyes, we* should be alright.

Prediction: 4 – 2. Danny with his customary two. Danny to be the dat-trick guy; then from here on in really kick on and match the 26 goal haul Henry got at the same point in his career – ending the season by lifting the World Cup as England captain.

I’ve spent most of the summer feeling okay about Moyes, but as the season looms large, I’m starting to feel a bit nauseous. It’s not really about Moyes in and of himself, or what’s gonna happen to the club over the coming months and years – I can deal with that. It’s more; I don’t want this job to be the end of him, y’know. I’m nervous for him. What can I say? Well, I’ve already said it. Just then. That was it. And so it begins…

It’s a shiny new season and as if Fergie had never gone and left us, our manager is griping about the fixtures and that. Quite a tough start though innem (Bristolian for innit, innit).

So to Swansea, them who have themselves that difficult second season to navigate. Michu *Bless you* (If only I’d have copyrighted that tweet) is staying it would seem and has formed the super group Boney M, with new signing Bony *oh just got it* (he of the manic touch) and they’ll no doubt get more than just a sniff around Dave’s area. They’ve generally strengthened. They were good last year. They might be better this year. It’s going to be a good game. The likelihood is that they will get a result. That could happen if Fergie was in charge. It did happen, when Fergie was in charge. That’s a list of things.

And so to us. I’m not going to try and guess who might start, or what formation we might play – those things will become clearer as Moyes moulds us over the coming weeks. Of the definite starters: I’m really excited about Dave – he’s just going to get better; I’m super excited about Patrice – he’s been looking proper; I’m really, super excited about RvP, obvs … but I’m mainly really, super-duper excited about Danny – I really think this will be his season.

Elsewhere: Zaha looks to have it, whatever it is, and hopefully him and Tony can really slug it out for that right midfield spot. And you can’t help but feel silly excited about Adnan.

I just want to enjoy the start of the season and see what Moyes bringeth, for these first couple of games … then I can really ramp up the nonsense on these posts.
