Great to see Michael Owen getting a couple to keep the competition for places healthy and to prove that he still has a big part to play in the squad.

Despite seeming to mock Owen a lot on Twitter and in various blogs I write, I actually really like him and secretly want him to play a lot more than he does. Not that I think he’s better than any of the other strikers.  The second was a beauty to match Giggsys the other night. Giggsy’s goal tonight was a smart looking fluke, a bit like Owens first…shanks dressed as finishing.

The highlights of the night were the surprising performance of virtual unknown Fryers and the introduction of Pogba.
