While hardly pulling up trees (see above illustration – slick, right?! NO?! What would you know anyway?!) Rooney is at the very least useful for now. He’s all style over substance and substance over style, without being either substantially stylish or stylishly substantial enough. (Took the words right out of your mouth, right? NO?! etc…)
Kyle Walker and Sandro got lucky. Yes, you heard. Their goals should be put to the dubious goals panel and wiped from the records. “I don’t know what I’m doing, so I’m just going to hit this really hard” – actually recorded from both of their inner-monologue tapes. It was nice of Spurs to play Lennon on the right – he of the no end product.
What I’m trying to say is: we really coulda/woulda/shoulda come away with all three of those lovely points. We were the better team and had the better of the chances (other cliches available to loan from your local library). That’s not going to be the case very often, when you go to a team as good as they. I s’pose you could say that considering we were wishing we were Spurs a month ago, we should be happy. I s’pose.
Nice to see a big tackle from Vidic, I seriously thought he’d stopped making them, on account of his poorly knees. Also, Phil Jones and Tony stood out.
*something sage to end*
