I’m a bit too excited to write this, with the Real game – Football Christmas – only hours away, but I’ll give a few things a go…
Was great to see us keep a sustained level of focus, the timing with the Real game and all, was impeccable. We’re by no means setting the world alight but there is a flame that is strong enough to give us hope. I never doubted that the intensity of playing Real would help us maintain our focus, however it’s nice to be reminded we are capable of it.
That is about as comprehensive a result as you can expect against a very good Everton side and we can definitely feel like we’re going into the Champions League games in fighting shape.
The Van Persie goal was described wonderfully by @Tr16ia on Twitter as akin to “a deer running through a meadow”. Giggsy’s goal was pretty sweet too. He is amazing. They are amazing.
The timing of most of the player’s form, on the evidence of this game, makes the coming weeks extra exciting. If we can get Ashley Young fit and set a firecracker off inside TV, then who knows what we can achieve?!
