As much as I’d like to see a)VDS keep a clean sheet in his last premier league game and b)Blackpool to stay up, I think this game will fail to deliver on either wish.
The team we’ll play, most of which was confirmed by SAF in the press conference, consists of squad players desperate to give the boss a healthy selection headache before the CL next week. We have no pressure on us and are free to express ourselves. VDS who has been my favourite United goalkeeper of all (my living) time, apart from an empathetic love of Jim Leighton, will obviously be very hard to replace next season.
Blackpool on the other hand have everything to lose. I think they will start the game nervy, with half an ear on other results and won’t start playing until the game is effectively lost. Living in Bristol, Ian Holloways status as a legend is tangible. It would be a shame if he wasn’t around next season.
I hope Berba gets a goal and claims the golden boot. Also feel Scholesy is due a belter. Could this be the game Owen gets his goal (I fear this may soon become a permanent fixture at the bottom of my prediction).
