Well that result wouldn’t have been out of place in an episode of Tales of the Unexpected. Not that I didn’t expect a win, but I certainly didn’t expect a big win. Nor did I expect Kagawa (or Swagawa) to get a hat-trick. Thinking about it, I probably never expected him to get a hat-trick – he’s not really a hat-tricky type of player. But didn’t he do well?!
Apart from a little shake, we looked as in control as we have done for most of the season and we really couldn’t be going into the Real game in better shape for me. That is apart from the ongoing Rooney paradigm (is that the right word – let’s say no! but move on quickly) – who at least showed he still has the spectacular in there somewhere. Let’s hope he didn’t empty his entire chamber in that one moment.
TV gave me a flicker of hope.
Norwich worked hard but certain players in their midfield – as is often the case – showed their inexperience: Snodgrass is always greener on the other side.
I can’t waste anymore words on this, I only have a few to go round and Real pre-match things don’t write themselves. Very pleased.
MOTM: Kagawa; OBV!
