Who thinks Evra is no longer all that?

RIGHT! You, you, and you at the back with your two hands up, outside NOW! I’ll be out in a minute to give you a really good telling off.

Look at him ——————————————–>

You’ve really upset him now. Poor Paddy; you heartless beasts.

Look, before you start, left backs are all rubbish at defending, FACT,  so, you can’t hold that against him.

If you think Evra needs replacing we want a ruddy good reason why. OKAY?!

  1. Though he’s been disappointing lately on the defensive side, I see no better option right now. There were some goals against us when he was not in the picture at all and goals came from his side. I know it’s been suggested before where he plays in the wing. If Fabio or Rafael live up to their potential I’d say they go in, but the poor kids hardly can finish a game without being injured. Even in the summer, I think that would be so low on the list of players we wNt to replace.

  2. Thanks for the comment Maz. I agree, other areas of the team need addressing more pressingly than left back.

I still maintain, there’s actually no such thing as a left back who can actually defend ;-)

  3. Irwin was a great defender. And actually Evra is a good defender when he’s there. The problem is he’s caught out of position many times. It really doesn’t help him that we didn’t have a good left winger or midfielder in a while. We usually have good cover on right side. But if we had a good left winger that keeps their left back occupied. SAF woukd put park on right side for example when we play Chelsea to keep cole from attacking. We just have to keep it together till the summer. Hopefully we’ll be two trophies richer.
